Causes Of Disparity Between Male And Female Enrolment In Business Education In Enugu State A Case Study Of Enugu State College Of Education (technical)
ABSTRACT
This project studied the cause of disparity between male and female enrolment in Enugu State College of Education (Technical) Enugu.
Chapter one the research population comprised student and lecturers of Enugu State College of Education (Technical) Enugu from three schools namely, school of business education, science education and technical education. The population prompted the researcher to regard the entire population as the sample.
The questionnaire was the major instrument used. It was found that the implementation and non workability of government policy, guidelines, programmes, etc. militate against male interest in the study of business course. Also, the shabby way equity training was handled which fail to emphasis and encourage male enrollment in business education was another factor that coursed disparity. It was also discovered that the shift to other department/ schools by male student is an indication of a drift from school of business education thereby causing disparity between male/female enrolment.
Generally, if government should address the issues raised in the findings by making adequate provisions both in human and material resources it will go a long way in reducing to the barest minimum the disparity between male/female enrolment in the schools of Business Education in Enugu State College of Education (Technical) Enugu.
