CHAPTER ONE
INTRODUCTION
1.1 BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
Today, unemployment is regarded as one of the most serious economic and social problems in any nation. According to the Davos economic conference, there are 16 million jobless young men in Arab communities, which are on the rise in emerging nations. The Arab youth population is expected to reach 80 million in 2013.(blogspot.com/arabia-edition) The primary cause of unemployment in these nations is the growing strain on the production and service sectors, as well as the enormous negative impact of unemployment on social and economic levels. Increased unemployment causes significant damage and severe circumstances. If a person can not find work to fulfill his fundamental requirements, he will be driven to hurt himself and others in his society. Furthermore, unemployment assassinates young people's aspirations and limits their future options. In general, Arab nations are confronted with a rapidly evolving issue that is robbing university graduates of their futures and overburdening the Arab world's population with academic education. Each young person's goal is to be involved in meaningful labor and contribute to the creation of a community in order to create a civilization. Effectively, in addition to establishing one's individuality in life in order to obtain a high and higher rank, Young men spend their school years studying hard in order to graduate, only to find themselves roaming the streets and cafés looking for employment that may not be accessible for more than a year. Emptiness may cause individuals to behave erratically, leading to their conviction based on proof of the facts in their society. In addition to poverty, chasing false dreams, suffering psychological setbacks, and bearing a burden greater than they can bear, all of these factors can lead to suicide as a result of feeling like a failure and having no value in their communities, with this condition posing a risk to their own lives, forcing most of them to immigrate to seek work abroad.
1.2 STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
Unemployment has been a critical issue impacting all countries' economies during the past three decades, and it is unavoidable, a problem that exists in every community. Despite the fact that the economy is growing at a rapid pace, the unemployment problem continues to worsen year after year. Having a lack of economic thinking and being unable to absorb the unemployment issue and find a solution, causes unemployment to grow and become more severe. There is a new school of thought that suggests that unemployment is the result of victims who have failed to adjust to competition and globalization. As a result, many nations across the globe research and evaluate the causes and consequences of unemployment in their communities on a regular basis, attempting to determine the number of jobless people and their proportion of the overall population. Unemployment has also been a major issue for politicians and policymakers in recent years. These are concerned with the development of strategies and activities to reduce unemployment rates in their respective areas. The impact of employment on individuals and establishments in the community is linked to political structure, social security, economic development, and health issues, making the unemployment problem a major concern for those in charge of raising the educational and craft levels of manpower, which will reduce unemployment and crime (Cantor & Land 1985).
