OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY
The primary aim of this research is to analyze the benefits and challenges of implementing international public sector accounting standards in Ghana, thus, the following objectives;
i. To examine the merits of IPSAS in Ghana public service.
ii. To examine the impact of IPSAS on Ghana's public sector accountability.
iii. To assess the barriers to effective implementation of IPSAS in Ghana's public sector.
RESEARCH QUESTIONS
The following questions guide this study;
i. What are the merits of IPSAS implementation in Ghana public service?
ii. What is the effect of IPSAS implementation on Ghana's public service accountability?
iii. What are the impediments to the implementation of IPSAS in Ghana's public sector?
1.5 SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY
A considerable amount of study has revealed that most firms, particularly in industrialized nations, have adapted very successfully to the IPSA. As a result, the researcher believes it is important to establish whether Nigeria is experiencing such a fate. The purpose of this research is to look into the repercussions and advantages of IPSA adoption for accounting firms in Nigeria that report financial statements utilizing the IPSA. The study will assist users in comprehending the implications of IPSA adoption on accounting companies as well as the advantages of IPSA adoption on accounting businesses in Nigeria
